Puck Collective: Illustrative Showcase

This was an event being held by a collective of illustrators at the city and arts music project (CAMP) in London on 3 March 2011.

The main bar area where this was being held was fairly small with dark grey walls and ceilings. I used the same technique to light these photos as described in my post on retaining ambient light in a dark club. This was actually more difficult to shoot than the event described in that article because there were hardly any clean surfaces off which to bounce the flash. I had to constantly orient the flash head to ensure that I was not blinding the guests with it.

I was using my standard event kit which is the D700 and the 24-70mm Nikkor lens with the SB900 gelled for tungsten.
